A horse who has spaced his three wins over four years will be out to put two together in less than two weeks when he steps out at Randwick.
Although Praecido's winning record isn't flash, trainer David Payne points to his prize money of almost $700,000 as a mark of how good he is.
The six-year-old's record includes Group One placings in the 2010 Spring Champion Stakes and Victoria Derby.
His most recent win came at Warwick Farm on November 13 when he led all the way over 2200 metres with apprentice Serge Lisnyy aboard.
He tackles 2400 metres on Saturday at Randwick where he will carry 55kg after Lisnyy's 3kg claim.
"He's found his winning ways," Payne said.
"And while he's enjoying it and earning prize money we will keep him going.
"He will tell us when he's had enough."
Lisnyy, who is indentured to Kim Waugh at Wyong, has been on loan to Payne for the past couple of months with a view to making a more permanent move to Sydney.
"Horses run along for him and the three kilo claim certainly helps," Payne said.
"He's ridden Praecido a few times now and understands him.
"But I don't think Praecido will be leading tomorrow. There are a couple of others who go forward and I'm hoping he can slot in second or third.
"I don't see why he can't win again."
Before his Warwick Farm win, Praecido was placed twice behind the Greg Hickman-trained Jarilee who is among his rivals on Saturday along with Queanbeyan Cup winner Celtic Soul.
The Rado Boljun-trained Celtic Soul has also won his past two starts and his 12 wins make him the second highest earner in Saturday's field with $144,170.
Praecido is by One Cool Cat who stood for a few seasons at Coolmore and New Zealand's Cambridge Stud but his progeny have created little impression - except the ones with Payne.
One Cool Cat has had three stakes winners in Australia and Payne has trained them all - Winter King, Winning Glory and Praecido, winner of the Parramatta Cup in 2012.
Coolmore sold One Cool Cat in 2009 to stand at stud in Korea.
