Tony McEvoy already has big autumn plans for Mouro and hopes Sysmo shows himself worthy of similar lofty targets with his performance in the ATC Cup.
The Listed ATC Cup (2000m) at Rosehill on Saturday is expected to be Sysmo's final start of a three-state campaign before attention shifts to next year's autumn carnival.
Sysmo's biggest win in 12 Australian starts has been the Listed Seymour Cup last month but his trainer plans to keep raising the bar for the French import.
"I don't think there's much between him and Mouro, to be honest," McEvoy said.
"Their race records would say there is, but my knowledge of them is that they are very similar. So I want to give him a chance in some nice races from 2000 metres to 2400 metres in the autumn.
"Where they will be I'm not sure yet."
Mouro won the Sale Cup and Group Three Eclipse Stakes (1800m) during the spring and the $3 million Doncaster Mile in April is his autumn target.
McEvoy has booked James McDonald to ride Sysmo and stablemate Bring A Ring who contests a 1300m race for three-year-olds.
Sysmo was third to Post D'France over 1600m at Flemington during the four-day Flemington carnival and McEvoy felt there was plenty of merit in the run under a big weight.
"His record could be a lot better than it is but there hasn't been one day where I've been disappointed with him," the trainer said.
Bring A Ring, a Listed winner in Adelaide last season, is in line for a trip to the Gold Coast for January's Magic Millions 3Y0 Guineas.
"If her form is good in this run and maybe one other, we'll go north to the Gold Coast," McEvoy said.
Premier Sydney trainer Chris Waller will enter four in the ATC Cup - Fulgur, Secessio, Hoylonny and Permit.
