Mornington trainer Jason Warren is counting on last-start winner Jayconi to prevail again when he runs over his pet distance at Caulfield on Saturday.
On November 9, Jayconi, with Clare Lindop aboard, won over 1000m carrying 54kg at Morphettville Park.
With the computer breakdown of the racing industry's administrator of race field data - Racing Information Services Australia (RISA) - nominations for races around the country were held up so Warren, along with other trainers, was in the dark about who his horse will be up against.
The glitch also hindered his ability to book jockeys because he doesn't know what weight his horses will be carrying.
"It's just made it a little harder to book jockeys," Warren said.
"If they don't get any more than 56kg I will have a senior on them and if they get more, then I will probably claim."
Apart from his marquee Group One-winning horse Bel Sprinter, Warren said most of his stable is made up of provincial runners with some, such as Jayconi, who loves 1000m racing, looking to take the next step up in grade.
"Jayconi has some upside which he showed winning in Adelaide," said Warren.
"I expect he will be hard to beat at Caulfield."
His other runner, Loot `n' Run, finished 11th of 13 in a 1400m handicap race for four-year-olds at Flemington during the carnival at Flemington and will run that distance at Caulfield.
"He's only going fair at this stage and he needed the Flemington run," Warren said.
"I think he's a run away from hitting his peak."
Warren, despite his lack of consistent city horses, is among the top 20 trainers in Victoria with a strike-rate around 13 per cent.
