Veteran jockey Darren Gauci has been taken to hospital for observation and will have X-rays on his wrist after a fall at Bendigo.
Gauci came down approaching the finishing line during the seventh race on Wednesday when riding the John Symons and Sheila Laxon-trained Royal Mephisto.
Racing Victoria reported Gauci would undergo further observation and X-rays on a suspected right wrist fracture.
Gauci is a four-time Melbourne premiership winner during a career which has spanned more than 30 years.
The popular jockey spent more than nine months out of the saddle recovering from injuries sustained in a fall at Mornington in 2011.
