MOMENT OF CHANGE was desperately unlucky Saturday in the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes going down by the shortest of margins and proving to all he is a genuine Group 1 performer.
It all came down to who got the bob in with his arch rival Buffering, Moment Of Change's nose in front before and after the post but not right on the line.
At the 100 he was going to be beaten a good half length but his last 50 was simply super as he attacked now three time Group 1 winner Buffering.
It was a cruel result for the horse who deserves a second Group 1 victory but proved there will be more in his locker to come.
He is a lightly raced 5yo with just 18 starts for 5 wins, 4 seconds & 4 thirds and has earnings of $986,638.
Moment Of Change is yet another successful purchase by Slade Bloodstock from the Perth Magic Millions Sale, purchased by Rob Slade in 2010 for just $50,000.
His 2013 campaigns have been over the sprint trips and whilst he has been highly effective and reels over great sectionals over such trips he'll be pushed out in the Autumn of 2014 to 1400 and 1600 metre trips that we feel will suit even better.
Yep...Moment Of Change is a true Group 1 performer!
