Robbie Griffiths could raise the bar for unbeaten filly Girl In Flight with a trip to Sydney for the Australian Oaks now on the agenda.
Griffiths' original goal was the $400,000 Australasian Oaks (2000m) in Adelaide on April 26 but the trainer said he would consider the $1 million Sydney fillies feature a week earlier.
But the lightly-raced grey will have to prove herself when she comes back from a short break after claiming her first city win at her third start last week.
"She's pulled up a treat after Caulfield and has gone for a brief rest before coming back for the autumn," Griffiths said.
"When she returns to racing her form will determine whether we head to Sydney or Adelaide."
"They are only a week apart, so she has the option to have a crack at either of them depending on her form at the time," Griffiths said.
A November foal by Commands, Girl In Flight began her career with victory over 1309m at Pakenham on October 29 followed by a 1400m win at Sale two weeks later.
She showed her staying potential on her first trip to town when she overcame traffic problems to win over 1700m, prompting her trainer to declare her an ideal Oaks filly.
While Griffiths has yet to win a Group One race, he has one of the best strike rates in Victoria and sits fourth on the state premiership.
