Pint-sized filly Bring A Ring's win at Rosehill has earned her a crack at some big hitters in the Magic Million Guineas.
The Tony McEvoy-trained three-year-old got the verdict in a three-way photo finish to Saturday's TAB Rewards Handicap (1400m).
The topweight with 58.5kg, Bring A Ring ($6) had a half head to spare over favourite Mardi ($2.70) with Mamwaazel another nose away third.
"She had to do it tough and doesn't want it much further," McEvoy said.
"The race was well summed up by Nash (Rawiller).
"She is a filly with style and has been unlucky, particularly with wide barriers.
"She goes to the Magic Millions Guineas where she gets some weight relief and hopefully she draws a good alley there."
Bring A Ring began her career in Adelaide with two wins but luck deserted her in her next seven starts.
Her most recent start before Saturday when she was a close third at Rosehill on November 30 gave McEvoy confidence she was back on the right track.
The $1 million Guineas is the richest support race at the Gold Coast on January 11 with the $2 million Magic Millions Classic for two-year-olds the main event.
