Peter Moody started the new year with a feature winner at Flemington and is well represented to make an impact again on his home track at Caulfield.
Quick Snitzel, one of nine Moody-trained runners to accept for Saturday's meeting, is the shortest-priced favourite on the card in the Equiano Speed Yearlings Heat 6 (1600m).
Moody has a three-pronged attack in the $150,000 VOBIS Gold Carat (1200m).
Colors Of The Wind is backing up in the Gold Carat after his second at Moonee Valley last Saturday while last-start winners Miss Promiscuity and Wild Fire face their biggest tests in the same race.
Melbourne's premier trainer, Moody prepared a double on Wednesday highlighted by Flamberge's win in the Standish Handicap.
Moody's racing manager Jeff O'Connor said the stable's trio in the Gold Carat were different types of horses but all deserved their chance in what he expects to be a tough race.
O'Connor believes Wild Fire would need to improve from his 5-1/4 length Yarra Glen maiden win to score again in his city debut while Colors Of The Wind "shouldn't be underestimated".
Miss Promiscuity bounced back from a Caulfield failure two starts ago to win a Moonee Valley Friday night race by four lengths over Mother Grace and is second favourite behind the Darren Weir-trained Trust In A Gust.
"She had a hiccup two runs ago at Caulfield when she got back, and then we put her back on the speed last time with blinkers on and she got the job done," O'Connor said.
"It looks a lovely race for her. She'll probably race forward, and it seems to be an ideal race for them but I've certainly respected the form from others in the race.
O'Connor said Colors Of The Wind found form when running on for second to Brotherly Secret last Saturday over 1200m.
"He's got more experience than the others I think, even though he's only had three runs," he said.
"He raced in a good Saturday-class race last week against a horse that is going well in Brotherly Secret. It's just whether he can get the right speed and tempo to run on."
Quick Snitzel, meanwhile, finished well for second to in-form Sistine Demon last time out at Flemington over 1630m.
"It's a super race for him," O'Connor said.
