Golden Slipper winner Overreach has signalled her readiness for a Group One return with a sizzling barrier trial win at Randwick.
The Gai Waterhouse-trained filly missed the spring after a setback with a stone bruise coupled with what her trainer described as a growth spurt.
Her time of 42.20s for her 728m trial on Friday morning was the quickest of nine heats over the distance.
The Group One Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington on February 15 or the Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield a week later are the options being considered for Overreach's return.
Her stablemate, Breeders' Plate winner Law, also won his trial and will be set on a path towards the Golden Slipper with the Blue Diamond ruled out.
Leading Magic Millions contender Charlie Boy pleased jockey Michael Rodd in his lead-up to Saturday week's $1 million race at the Gold Coast with his third in a 1050m heat won by Number One Gun.
The winner of the Group Two Danehill Stakes in the spring, Charlie Boy goes to the Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) without a recent race under his belt after he missed a trial early last month due to a stone bruise.
However, trainer Gerald Ryan is not concerned, believing he has enough residual fitness to tackle the 1400 metres first-up.
In the first trial of the morning, the Queen's horse Carlton House ran fourth in a 1200m heat won by his Gai Waterhouse-trained stablemate Sookie.
