Blake Shinn has been unsuccessful in his appeal against a careless riding suspension.
However, he will be free to chase Magic Millions riches at the Gold Coast this weekend after the Racing Appeal Panel varied the dates of his ban.
The jockey was outed for his ride on Takewing at Randwick on New Year's Day when stewards suspended him from January 5 until January 23.
However, with his appeal unable to be heard until this week, the Panel allowed Shinn to fulfill his commitments at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
His rides include Cyclone for Gai Waterhouse in the $2 million Magic Millions Classic and the Paul Perry-trained Wouldn't It Be Nice in the $1 million Guineas.
Shinn will begin his ban on Sunday and can return to the saddle on Australia Day.
