A $950, 000 Easter Yearling, May’Haab posted his first winner at Port Macquarie on Thursday when the talented gelding Checkout Me Travla saluted the judge with an impressive win on his second start.g
A powerful bay 3yo, prepared by local trainer Colt Prosser, Checkout Me Travla stalked the leader and then powered to the line to win the 1000 metre maiden by a ¾ length.
Bred by local breeders Tyler Connors and Brad Farrell, Checkout Me Travla is the first foal from Beautiful Princess. Connors and Farrell have a lot to look forward to, with two full siblings to Checkout Me Travla; 2yo Prince Mayted, who has trialled impressively and will begin his racing career shortly, and a yearling filly which is also being retained to race. Beautiful Princess is back in foal to May’Haab this year with great expectations for her owners.
May’Haab has had three runners at this stage, with two being placed as two year olds and Checkout Me Travla the third runner for May’Haab, who stands at Glenthorne Park, Taree, NSW at a fee of $2000.
Bred by Emirates Park, May’Haab was a $950,000 Easter yearling, and was unraced due to injury. May’Haab’s female family line are direct descendants from the iconic sire Danehill.
May’Haab has covered 218 mares since his commencement at stud in 2009.
