Champion jockey Chris Munce has just one slight concern in his attempt to add the $1 million Magic Millions Guineas to his impressive list of Gold Coast victories.
The Gold Coast has long been a happy hunting ground for Munce who rode there most Saturdays while a young apprentice when indentured to Eric Kirwan in the late 1980s.
It was the scene of Munce's first major winner, Sunblazer, in the 1989 Magic Millions Two Year Old Classic.
Munce has since won two more Classics with Excellerator (2001) and Dance Hero (2004) but he should have four.
He was to ride 1994 winner Brave Warrior but was replaced by Neil Williams after being injured in a fall earlier in the day.
However, he is yet to win the Magic Millions Guineas (1400m), something he hopes to change on Into The Red on Saturday.
The Kelso Wood-trained Into The Red missed the traditional Guineas lead up, the Vo Rogue Plate, when he drew the outside alley.
However, he was an eye-catching second in a Gold Coast three-year-old race last Saturday when he carried 59kg and raced in the worst part of the track.
"It was a good run and he is a very good horse. He is drawn perfectly in barrier one on Saturday and should get a good run behind the pace," Munce said.
"But the only niggle I have is him running the 1400 metres right out. If he does that watch out for him."
Into The Red, who is raced by the same connections as star galloper Sizzling, has had one start at the distance, finishing last in the Group One Golden Rose in September.
However, as a guide to his ability to run 1400m it posed more questions than it answered as Into the Red was forced to lead at a breakneck pace from the outside alley and weakened in the straight.
Meanwhile, Munce is quietly confident his Magic Millions Classic mount Vienna Royale can get into the money.
Vienna Royale was to be sent for a spell after failing at Toowoomba on New Year's Eve but has pleased trainer Tony Gollan and will take his place in the Classic field.
