Having beaten her male counterparts in the Levin Classic, dual New Zealand Group One winner Recite could take them on again in the Australian Guineas.

The filly beat her John Bary-trained stablemate Franzac in Saturday's Group One Levin Classic (1600m) for three-year-olds at Trentham to take her record to five wins from nine starts.

It was the daughter of Darci Brahma's first victory of the season after she went through her two-year-old year unbeaten in four starts including two Group Two wins and victory in the Group One Sire's Produce Stakes (1400m) at Awapuni last March.

Bary is looking at both Melbourne and Sydney options for Recite while the Group One Australian Cup (2000m) is on the radar for four-year-old stablemate Survived.

"Nominations for the Australian Guineas close tomorrow (Tuesday) and we'll be nominating her for that, along with the other horse Survived for the Aussie Cup," Bary told Melbourne's RSN Radio.

"Whether she (Recite) makes it there or makes it to Sydney, I'm not too sure, but we'll just gauge it on how she's going and go from there."

Bary celebrated Group One success in Australia in 2011 with Jimmy Choux who won the Rosehill Guineas and finished second in the Cox Plate.

Survived is due to line up in the Group One Thorndon Mile this weekend in New Zealand.

"It's a handicap race which is not ideal. He's lumping 59 (kg) topweight and is giving the bottom ones seven kilos," Bary said.

"But we've got our eyes on the race two weeks after that, the Darci Brahma International which is at weight-for-age over 2000 (metres)."

The Australian Cup is at Flemington ON March 8, a week after the Australian Guineas.

Bary believes Survived is going well enough for a top three finish this weekend.

"If he does that and then he wins his next start, in my mind he's good enough to come and have a run at the Aussie Cup," he said.
