As Blue Diamond Stakes favourite Rubick gets ready to go to Melbourne, trainer Gerald Ryan will turn some of his attention to another of his two-year-olds at home.

Inglis Classic winner Peggy Jean will run at Rosehill on Saturday after which the trainer will decide whether to keep her going through the autumn.

Ryan has Rubick's path mapped out with the colt doing his bit by winning on debut at Randwick on Saturday.

"He goes to Melbourne this week and will run in the Blue Diamond Prelude and the Blue Diamond two weeks later," Ryan said.

"All going well, he comes back to Sydney and runs in the Todman Stakes then the Golden Slipper.

"He has pulled up well from his race and can only improve."

Peggy Jean has also pulled up well from beating Group Three winner Boomwaa in the $250,000 Inglis Classic just over a week ago but Ryan believes the filly still has some maturing to do.

"She will run at Rosehill on Saturday and then we will make a decision on what to do," he said.

"The options are to give her a spell or freshen her up and come back and aim at a race like the Sires' Produce or Champagne Stakes.

"She is not a big filly but she will strengthen and become physically more mature as she gets older."

Rubick is already a big colt and his trainer is excited about what lies ahead.

Ryan watched the Blue Diamond Previews from Randwick and saw nothing to scare him, citing Earthquake as the form line.

The Darley filly has had one start for an impressive win at Randwick in November, half a second slower over 1000m than Rubick was on Saturday.

Earthquake will have a barrier trial at Cranbourne on Thursday and run in the Blue Diamond Fillies Prelude on Saturday week.

"She looks to be the one to beat," Ryan said.

"But as we all know, anything can happen with two-year-olds."
