Ortensia in foal to Choisir

Thursday 30 January 2014, 3:12pm

Dual hemisphere Group I-winning mare Ortensia is in foal to another internationally successful sprinter Choisir.

Ortensia amassed more than $2.4 million dollars in prizemoney in a stellar career that included Group I wins in Australia, Dubai and England.

Similarly, Choisir was able to join an elite company when he was able to win the Group I Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington before taking out the Group I Golden Jubilee Stakes (6f) at Royal Ascot.

On Thursday, it was confirmed that Ortensia is in foal to Choisir.

The foal is likely to draw significant attention when the yearling sales roll around next year, given both the mother and father are dual-hemisphere Group I winners.
