Hong Kong-based star Joao Moreira is among the jockeys in the mix to ride three-year-old Lord Of The Sky in next month's Group One Oakleigh Plate.
The Robbie Laing-trained Lord Of The Sky is being aimed at the 1100m Oakleigh Plate on February 22 and gets the chance to confirm himself as a contender for the Group One sprint when he lines up as favourite in Saturday's Listed WJ Adams Stakes at Caulfield.
Laing said Moreira had been in touch about riding Lord Of The Sky next month, with the trainer expecting the colt to get around 50kg.
He said Glen Boss, who rides the Lord Of The Sky on Saturday, and Craig Williams were also in the mix.
"Apparently they have let us know they can ride at that weight as well," Laing said.
Boss partners Lord Of The Sky for the first time in the WJ Adams and Laing is confident the colt can make it four straight wins over 1000m at Caulfield in his first stakes test.
"He just runs along at 11 (seconds) to the furlong and then you give him a slap on the shoulder and he improves off it. That makes him hard to beat," he said.
Lord Of The Sky was beaten on debut in a Werribee maiden over 1118m but has since won his past three starts at Caulfield over 1000m.
The son of Danerich has continued to please Laing since his most recent win by 6-1/2-lengths in a midweek race on January 15.
Lord Of The Sky is the $2.25 favourite for the Adams ahead of the resuming African Pulse who is unbeaten in five first-up attempts.
Laing, meanwhile, said two-year-old Boomwaa is "more than a 50-50 chance" of running in the Group One Lightning Stakes on February 15.
Laing's stable star Polanski pleased in an 800m Cranbourne barrier trial on Thursday, finishing third to sprinters Lankan Rupee and Unpretentious.
Polanski will resume in the Group One CF Orr Stakes (1400m) on Saturday week.
