BRISBANE February 5 AAP - Apprentice Alisha Taylor has been cleared of a serious shoulder injury after a fall at the Sunshine Coast.
Chief steward Alan Reardon confirmed on Wednesday overnight tests showed Taylor had strained ligaments in her left shoulder following Tuesday's fall.
Taylor was taken to hospital after the incident which delayed the last race at the Sunshine Coast by 25 minutes and it was initially feared the hoop had a broken shoulder.
Taylor's mount, Jhelum, collided with Niello's Gift (Kelvin Wharton) during the preliminary.
Taylor and Wharton were both dislodged and Jhelum bolted before attempting to jump the running rail.
Jhelum was euthanased after sustaining an injury to its right shoulder.
Wharton and Niello's Gift escaped serious injury but the horse was declared a late scratching.
