More than 200 horses are still in the running for the Golden Slipper.
When the Australian Turf Club counted second acceptances on Thursday for the $3.5 million race, 218 two-year-olds were still in contention.
The total is up from the 196 taken at the same stage last year.
Racing and breeding powerhouse Darley has 36 youngsters left in the race including the second favourite Earthquake.
Trainer Gai Waterhouse has 26, including Law, the Breeders' Plate winner who is set to resume at Randwick on Saturday.
Rosehill trainer Gerald Ryan has eight horses among the second acceptances, headed by the early favourite Rubick.
Chris Waller, who trained his first two-year-old winner of the season at Canterbury on Wednesday, paid up for nine horses.
The total includes 122 colts and geldings and 96 fillies.
The Golden Slipper will be run at Rosehill on April 5.
Golden Slipper betting is certain to be reshaped after Saturday's racing after Rubick and Earthquake contest separate Blue Diamond Preludes at Caulfield.
