Moment Of Change is favourite to continue his unbeaten 1400-metre record at Caulfield in the Futurity Stakes and trainer Peter Moody believes the gelding has improved from his last-start Group One win.
Moment Of Change made it three wins from as many tries over the 1400-metre course at Caulfield when he lead all the way to hold off the late challenge of three-year-old Eurozone in the C F Orr Stakes on February 8.
He headlines a field of nine for Saturday's weight-for-age Futurity and Moody says the sprinter has trained on well.
"He's in good shape and taken good fitness improvement from his last start," Moody said.
"I think he's going into this in better shape than his last start."
Moody said the five-year-old's high cruising speed made him suited to the track and distance.
Moment Of Change is the $2.60 favourite ahead of three-year-old Bull Point ($3.40) with the Chris Waller-trained Sizzling ($6) on the third line of betting.
Sizzling was also an acceptor for the Apollo Stakes (1400m) in Sydney on Saturday but was scratched from that event on Wednesday afternoon.
Connections of Eurozone decided not to accept for the Futurity and he will go straight into the Group One Australian Guineas (1600m) on Saturday week.
Moody also has five-year-old import Lidari kicking off his campaign in the Futurity.
Lidari, rated a $15 chance, won first-up over 1400m at Caulfield last preparation and hasn't raced since finishing third to Fiorente in the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes at Moonee Valley in September.
