Tres Blue, Tanby added to feature races

An imported stayer trained by Gai Waterhouse is one of two late entries for The Championships at Randwick in April.

Tres Blue, who finished down the track in last year's Melbourne Cup at his only Australian start, has been added to nominations for the $3 million Doncaster Mile.

The four-year-old is yet to win at less than 1800m but he looked in sharp order when fourth to It's A Dundeel in a 1200m Randwick barrier trial on Monday.

His European form includes a German Derby placing and a Group Two win in France.

The Lloyd Williams-owned Tanby is a late entry for the $1 million Sydney Cup.

Tanby, who counts the Group Two Zipping Classic as his best win, hasn't been to the races since finishing unplaced in the Moonee Valley Gold Cup in October.
