Strict instructions have not narrowed Stephen Theodore's options with Lady Lakshmi after Saturday's Sandown assignment.

Differing opinions between Lady Lakshmi's owners and previous trainers led to her transfer to Theodore's stable before she began her autumn campaign.

"The owners were of the opinion she doesn't stay and her previous camp were adamant she would," Theodore said.

"I was under strict instructions to train her for seven furlongs (1400m) and no further and I'm happy to oblige."

Lady Lakshmi drops back from finishing fourth in a Listed race at Morphettville to rating 84 grade in the Smart Track Australia Handicap (1400m).

The Cranbourne trainer says Lady Lakshmi has thrived since returning from the Adelaide trip.

"The Theodore stable is never shy about travelling horses because it brings them to the next level," he said.

"I think it's done her the world of good. I'd be disappointed if she doesn't run a mighty race on Saturday."

Theodore says races such as the Group One Tattersall's Tiara would suit Lady Lakshmi, especially if wet tracks become the norm during the Brisbane winter carnival.

Daniel Stackhouse regains the ride on Lady Lakshmi at Sandown after winning twice on her last season.

Lady Lakshmi is the $5 favourite in early markets.
