Promising colt Pressing has moved to equal favourite for the Group One J J Atkins Stakes in Queensland after backing up his debut win with a Listed victory at Caulfield.
Trainer Mick Price is unsure whether Pressing can continue his preparation for another month but the lure of the Group One in Brisbane on June 7 is tempting.
The colt came from last to win Saturday's Sky High Mt Dandenong Stakes (1200m) by 3-1/2 lengths.
"I don't know what to do with him now, actually," Price said.
"He's very sound. He won't be shinny (shin sore) at all.
"He's got to train on from here which is a concern. I don't know if he's got enough petrol in the tank, but we'll look at him and make a decision.
"I look at that mile race. It's a $500,000 Group One. It's not the battle of the giants up there usually, so we'll see."
Pressing was well-backed to start $2.70 favourite but was a clear last at the half-way mark with Brad Rawiller niggling at him to keep in touch with the field.
Rawiller urged Pressing to improve coming to the home turn, cutting inside the rest of the field, and the colt quickly picked up to be in a winning position when he straightened for the run to the line.
He sprinted clear to defeat Petrology ($4) with a head to Easy Drama ($10) third.
The way Pressing travelled in the first half of the race was similar to his win at the same track three weeks ago.
"I thought it was a bit of a surprise at his first start to see him improve each furlong (200m) in the second half of the race and win," Price said.
"Today wasn't such a surprise, but when you're off the bridle behind the second last horse, that part was a bit of a surprise.
"But you can only judge them on what they do and the winning post tells all. He's obviously a good colt."
Pressing has firmed from his opening J J Atkins quote of $7.50 to join Zululand at $5 for the final Group One race for juveniles in Australia this season.
