Damian Lane copped a hefty suspension the last time he rode Hard Stride.
But it was a much better outcome on Saturday at Caulfield when Lane partnered the horse to victory in his first ride back from almost a month on the sidelines.
Lane was outed for 24 meetings on Easter Saturday for careless riding aboard Hard Stride in a race at Caulfield which led to jockey Vlad Duric falling from his mount.
"It's my first ride back so it's good to get a winner," Lane said.
"He was the horse I got time on too, so it was quite fitting."
Hard Stride ($4.20) took up the running in the Taralye Get Deaf Kids Talking Plate (1200m) and the favourite was never threatened in the straight as he raced to a 1-3/4 length win over Churchill Dancer ($5.50).
"He flew the gates, travelled strong throughout and gave a good kick at the end," Lane said.
The three-year-old's second win at his 13th start also brought up a winning double for co-trainers Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra after four-year-old Pin Your Hopes claimed a 1600m race.
