Scans have cleared Group One winning sprinter Snitzerland of serious injury but the mare may not be seen until the autumn.
Snitzerland was found to be lame when she pulled up suddenly in an exercise gallop last Friday week on the eve of the BTC Cup.
Trainer Gerald Ryan said there were concerns she could have had a hairline fracture but those were allayed by the scans late last week.
"It can take five to seven days for an injury to settle down so they can see if there is a fracture," Ryan said.
"But the scans came back all clear.
"She is in the spelling paddock. I don't know if she will come back for the spring.
"We want to give her a three-month break and that probably doesn't give us enough time to get her ready so we may wait until the autumn."
The winner of the Lightning Stakes first-up in February, Snitzerland had three other starts this autumn. She finished second to three-year-old Villa Verde in the Challenge Stakes before failing in the TJ Smith Stakes at her first attempt on heavy ground.
She was a non starter in the All Aged Stakes because of the wet ground and headed north where she ran third, beaten less than half a length, in the Group Two Victory Stakes at Eagle Farm won by Temple Of Boom.
The Group One BTC Cup (1200m) was won by Famous Seamus who finished third in the Challenge Stakes and behind Snitzerland again when fifth in the Victory Stakes.
The Noel Mayfield-Smith trained Famous Seamus is among the contenders for Saturday's Doomben 10,000 (1350m) and is a $10 chance.
Rebel Dane, second to Lankan Rupee in the $2.5 million TJ Smith, is the $3.70 favourite ahead of Brisbane star Buffering at $4 with Spirit Of Boom at $4.80.
The Ryan-trained Hot Snitzel is at $21.
