Apprentice Brodie Loy has celebrated the biggest win of his fledgling career, steering Timeless Prince to victory at Rosehill.
Loy, who is indentured to Bede Murray at Kembla Grange, rode the Tony Newing-trained Timeless Prince to win at the feature Scone meeting two weeks ago.
But he said winning in Sydney was a totally different experience.
"It's an unbelievable feeling to win my first Saturday race," Loy said.
"To be here riding against the best jockeys in Sydney is a great experience.
"I wanted to give the horse as soft a run as possible and I'm so happy he won.
"On the way to the gates he felt like a winner and he was explosive."
The Gosford-based Newing said he had considered looking into selling Timeless Prince until he won at Eagle Farm in early April.
"I was starting to wonder if it was time to move him on but not now," he said.
Timeless Prince ($5.50) came from back in the field in the 1500m benchmark 85 to hold off another fast-finisher Frozen Rope ($19) by a long head with the favourite Longshoreman ($2.90) a short neck third.
