Jockey Blake Shinn had a forgettable afternoon at Eagle Farm on Saturday, compounded by a careless riding suspension.
Shinn finished runner-up aboard Arabian Gold in the Group One Queensland Oaks and a close second in the Queensland Guineas when he rode Liberty's Choice.
Stewards suspended him for eight meetings for shifting in aboard Liberty's Choice near the 1000 metre mark which resulted in eventual winner Sir Moments being checked.
His suspension starts after next Saturday's Stradbroke Handicap meeting and he can resume riding on June 21.
Tim Bell's joy at winning his first Group One race aboard Tinto in the Queensland Oaks was soured when he was slapped with a $1000 fine.
Bell was fined $500 for overuse of the whip in the straight and another $500 for celebrating before the winning post aboard Tinto.
Apprentice Rikki Jamieson was suspended for eight meetings for causing interference to Sancerre passing the winning post the first time in the Oaks when she rode Moon And The Stars.
Her suspension starts on June 9 and she can resume riding on June 23.
Sancerre, who finished second last, was later found to be in season.
