A winning treble at Sandown on Wednesday brought up the latest milestone for Darren Weir in what has been a stellar season.
Wins by Live For Today, Atlantis Dream and Most Husbands at the midweek meeting took the trainer's tally to 211 victories nationwide.
It surpassed the previous mark for a Victorian-based trainer of 210 set by Peter Moody in 2011/12.
Weir leads Moody by 22 wins in the Melbourne metropolitan trainers' premiership with 74 victories.
"Everyone has worked hard at home. I've got a great team behind me," Weir said.
Harry Coffey rode two of Weir's three Sandown winners, Atlantis Dream and Most Husbands, to take the outright lead in the Melbourne apprentices' premiership over the injured Patrick Moloney who will miss the rest of the season.
