Three runners across 2 states will go around this Saturday for Blueblood Thoroughbreds.
The ever consistent gallopers, Encostanati and Black Revolver, will go head to head for the second time this preparation when they take their place in race 2 at Rosehill Gardens, and further south Le Mans will back up at Morphettville Parks after having a luckless run last weekend.
Both Black Revolver and Encostanati are well fancied in the markets (being first and third favourite respectively), and a strong claim can be made for either runner. Black Revolver is coming off a placing at this track and distance last start and trainer Chris Waller stated “His work earlier this week was good and the 1200m is a bit short but I still expect him to be very hard to beat”.
Encostanati is a last start winner over the distance and was dominant in doing so at Warwick Farm on the 4th of June. He posted a very fast time for the 1200m race, stopping the clock in 1.09.87s on a dead 5 surface. Trainer Bjorn Baker commented “I think he’s a big chance and I couldn’t be happier with how he is doing”.
Down south, Le Mans is backing up at Morphettville Parks this weekend after having no luck last week when he finished 12th in a field of 13 by only 3.1L. Apprentice Scott Westover found himself on the heels of tiring horses and had little room to move. Mick Price commented after the race “Le Mans is the unluckiest horse we have in work” and went further to say in his pre-race comments for this Saturday, “Le Mans is the best horse in the race and with luck in running, he will be right in the finish”.
It’s such a great achievement for a young syndicator to have 3 live city winning chances going around on the one day. Blueblood Thoroughbreds have come a long way in such a short time and it’s onwards and upwards from here.
We wish all our owners in these horses the best of success for this weekend.
