It took David Pfieffer only a curious glance at the Group One Tattersall's Tiara field to confirm his decision to set Cradle Me for a hat-trick of Sydney wins at Randwick on Saturday.
Cradle Me goes into the Instagram @ATC_Races Handicap as one of winter racing's in-form mares but her unbeaten run this time in work hasn't been enough to convince her young trainer he should aim higher.
"I gave the Tiara some thought but having said that it looks a solid Group One," Pfieffer said.
"The obvious race in Brisbane for her was probably the Gai Waterhouse Classic last week but I'm just as happy for her to go around on Saturday."
Cradle Me has scored contrasting wins for different jockeys in her two return victories.
With apprentice Sam Clipperton on board, the five-year-old swept home from the back to beat Kristy Lee when resuming but she had to make her own luck in a slowly run race at her next outing under Christian Reith.
"Her last win showed she is adaptable. She's not one dimensional so that gives us options for the future," Pfieffer said.
Clipperton lost the ride on Cradle Me last time because of suspension but he returns after Reith's decision to take up an end-of-season contract in Hong Kong.
Cradle Me will carry 58.5kg after Clipperton's claim, a 2.5kg rise on her win against the males at Rosehill on May 31.
"She has been comfortable carrying weight in easier races but you never know if they can do it at this level until you try them," Pfieffer said.
Pfieffer will give Cradle Me her chance to improve her value as a breeding prospect as soon as next month, picking out the Ramornie Handicap during the Grafton carnival as a suitable race.
"It comes at the end of the Brisbane carnival and some horses might have had enough, whereas she is hopefully still on the way up," Pfieffer said.
