Gerald Ryan has had a big season with his two-year-olds and it's not over yet with Brewery making his debut at Randwick in a bid to add to the trainer's tally.
If the colt is successful, he will be Ryan's 12th individual juvenile winner this season which has been highlighted by Peggy Jean's Group One victory in the ATC Sires' Produce Stakes.
Brewery is making his debut a little later than most of his stablemates and Ryan says he will get better as he gets over further than the 1200 metres of Saturday's TAB Quaddie Plate.
"He's a very nice horse but he is not brilliantly quick," Ryan said.
"He will get better as he gets over longer but he showed in his trial he is ready to go to the races."
The Fastnet Rock colt has had two trials, winning his most recent on June 10 with race jockey Brenton Avdulla aboard.
Part-owner Damion Flower puts a lot of thought into naming his horses which include Blue Diamond Prelude winner Rubick who is out of Sliding Cube, and Brewery is no exception.
"It's another good name from Damion," Ryan said.
"The sire of the colt's mother is I Promise who is by Hook And Ladder which is the name of an American boutique brewery."
Ryan will be watching Brewery's debut from afar as he saddles up Angel Of Mercy for what could her her final race start in the Group One Tattersall's Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm.
Angel Of Mercy will be running in the colours of leading Japanese owner and breeder Katsumi Yoshida who paid $575,000 for the mare at last month's National Broodmare Sale.
"She is fit and well and has been ticking over nicely," Ryan said.
"I don't know what the plans are after tomorrow but I'm happy going to the race."
