Chris Waller has trained 18 Sydney winners over the past five Sydney Saturday meetings and he has four favourites from 24 acceptors to continue the streak at Rosehill.
But the impressive end-of-season figures aren't enough to convince Sydney's leading stable it can match its 2012-2013 record-breaking achievements.
Waller trained 167-1/2 metropolitan winners last season to smash the record held jointly by TJ Smith and the legendary trainer's daughter Gai Waterhouse.
In a reality check for some of the hype building over another record, Waller's task of improving on that tally became a lot more difficult, if not impossible, afer he missed out at Canterbury on Wednesday.
Waller goes into Rosehill on 141-1/2 winners and his racing manager Liam Prior says the stable is eyeing off a more realistic goal.
"With there being fewer meetings this season I think 150 city winners would be equal to what we achieved last year," he said.
Waller has twice trained five winners during a metropolitan meeting, the latest haul coming a month ago when Sniper Fire, Amovatio, Kristy Lee, Mamwaazel and Tromso won at Rosehill.
Mamwaazel and Tromso are a part of his squad on Saturday.
Waller's four early favourites Winx, Sense And Reason, The Alfonso and Saigon Tea are all last-start winners.
The Alfonso holds a call at the top of betting over stablemate Enormous Honour in the Significant Stakes, a middle-distance test for two and three-year-olds.
One of Tye Angland's six rides for Waller, The Alfonso has won his past two starts against older opposition in midweek grade.
Off the 11 acceptors in the race, the Gai Waterhouse-trained Sun Force, a last-start winner at Newcastle, is the only two-year-old.
