A second win from two starts by juvenile Winx is a bonus for a filly whose breeding indicates she will be a much better three-year-old.
The first winner of an early race-to-race double for premier trainer Chris Waller at Rosehill on Saturday, Winx ($1.45) overhauled Inz'N'Out ($5) and stretched out to put 1-1/2 lengths on her rival in the TAB Early Quaddie Hcp (1400m).
Abbasso ($8.50) was one of three Waller runners in the 1350m race for three-year-olds and led in a stable trifecta when he beat Black Revolver ($5) by a neck with Mamwaazel ($5) another half length third.
The double got punters who took the TAB's novelty bet on how many winners Waller would train at the meeting off to a flying start and boosted his pursuit of his own metropolitan record.
Waller's racing manager Liam Prior said Street Cry filly Winx would now be spelled with a view to future.
"She has done an exellent job in her first preparation considering she is not bred to be a two-year-old," Prior said.
"I think Chris will give her a break and then look at the spring.
"It depends how long she has off whether she will be ready for races like the Flight Stakes but she has plenty of potential when she gets over a distance."
Abbasso backed up from his fourth at Randwick a week ago and did a good job under Tye Angland carrying top weight of 59kg.
"The option was to go three weeks into a 1400 metre race or back him up today and have a two week break," Prior said.
"He didn't have a gut buster last week so Chris thought this was the best option."
