Champion jockey Steve Pateman has made a clean sweep of the three jumps races at Warrnambool capped by the return to winning form by Bashboy.
Pateman's first win on Sunday came aboard Moudre, a one-time leading Caulfield and Melbourne Cups hope, who was having his second start over obstacles in the maiden hurdle.
Moudre failed to make the cut for the Cups in 2010 and scored a consolation win in the Group Three Queen's Cup that year which was the last time he had greeted the judge before his jumps win.
Pateman then steered Sea King to win the Kevin Lafferty Hurdle before Bashboy scored a dominant win in the Thackeray Steeplechase after being pulled out of the Mosstrooper at Bendigo two weeks ago.
The dual jumper of the year, who like Moudre is trained by Ciaron Maher, was subsequently found to be showing signs of cardiac arrhythmia.
But he dispelled all concerns with his 10 length win over Krase in the Thackeray carrying 72kg.
"It was a big training effort to come here and win like that with that weight," Pateman said.
"Myself and Ciaron thought he was going as well as ever.
"I'm absolutely chuffed with that. To do it like that and with that weight after what happened a couple of weeks ago - bring on the National.
"What a great day."
The Grand National Hurdle and Crisp Steeplechase are at Sandown on July 13 with the Grand National Steeplechase and J J Houlahan Hurdle two weeks later.
The Grand National Hurdle will be the goal for Sea King who recently joined the Patrick Payne stable after being sent across the Tasman by Kevin Myers.
Sea King wore down the Gai Waterhouse-trained Galiando in the flat run to the post with the races held on the heaviest rated track possible.
