Travis Wolfgram has a rare double in his keeping after securing the Gold Coast senior and junior riding premierships.
He will be at Doomben on Saturday to take advantage of fellow apprentice Luke Tarrant's decision to go on holidays.
Tarrant had arranged to take a break before he rode four winners at Eagle Farm last Saturday.
He said he had made the bookings for the holiday which meant he had to fly out on Saturday morning for an eight-day stay in Bali.
"The phone has been ringing a bit more since I rode the four winners. I tried to change my flight out of Brisbane but I couldn't," Tarrant said."
Tarrant rode another winner at Doomben when Son Of Coco scored on Wednesday, leaving him with 33 city winners in his first season.
Wolfgram has been riding at Brisbane midweek meetings as he secured both Gold Coast premierships.
He has ridden 33-1/2 Gold Coast winners this season, giving him a 9-1/2 win lead in the senior riders' premiership and 12-1/2 win advantage in the apprentices' race.
Wolfgram's manager Melissa Shield said it had been carefully planned to keep the young apprentice on the Gold Coast.
"We wanted him to outride his country and provincial allowances as well as win both Gold Coast titles. He has done that so now it is time to move to city racing," Shield said.
Wolfgram will have four rides on Saturday including Believe `N' Receive (Hervey Bay Handicap) and Belltone (Bottle-O Handicap).
He will be hoping for better luck on top-class galloper Belltone who has been struggling in black-type.
Trainer Kelso Wood hopes a sharp drop in class and Wolfgram's claim can propel Belltone back into the winner's list.
