Apprentice Katelyn Mallyon has two meetings to propel herself into the top echelon of this season's Melbourne jockeys.
Mallyon is likely to win her second Melbourne apprentices' title but the young rider could also finish in the top five in the senior jockeys' premiership for the first time.
Mallyon's doubles at Flemington last Saturday and Caulfield on Wednesday has her on 30 wins, level with Michael Rodd, Craig Newitt and Vlad Duric.
"It would be amazing to finish in the top five," Mallyon said.
"To be in the top five would be a huge achievement. Hopefully I can ride a couple more winners this season and keep the run going."
The 20-year-old was thrilled to achieve her main goal of winning the apprentices' premiership for a second time but her season has exceeded expectations.
Mallyon said the support and advice she has received from leading stables, including her masters Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra, was a crucial to her year.
"The confidence that my bosses have in me is great. They already give so much great advice and send me in the right direction and they been a big part of my success," she said.
"It's been a really good season for me and I've had great support from so many different trainers and I haven't had to rely on one trainer."
Mallyon has 11 rides at the weekend's Caulfield and Sandown meetings in which to lock up fifth placing in the premiership.
Mallyon rates the Mick Kent-trained Written as her best winning hope in the VOBIS Gold Heath (1800m).
Written upset the favourite Jessy Belle last Saturday at Flemington but will compete with the males this time under set-weights conditions in the $150,000 race.
