Evergreen sprinter Youthful Jack will use Saturday's Warwick Farm meeting as a launching pad towards another summer campaign in Tasmania.

The gelding resumes against eight rivals in the Sharp Flying (1200m) with his regular rider Robert Thompson also making the trip to town.

A multiple black type winner whose most significant success came in the 2009 Royal Sovereign Stakes, Youthful Jack went winless for 2-1/2 years before breaking his drought at Wyong almost 12 months ago.

The victory was the confidence boost he needed, earning him a trip to Tasmania where he made a clean sweep of a trio of Listed races.

Not surprisingly, Youthful Jack is heading back for another shot at the same summer features in 2013.

"It (Tasmania) suits horses like him who aren't quite up to Sydney standard now and he gets into those races carrying the same weights he did earlier in the year," Stitt said.

Stitt is also a part-owner of Youthful Jack and that will be his sole role during the gelding's Tasmanian assault.

As he did in February, Stitt will hand the job of trainer to Adam Trinder then take over the helm again when Youthful Jack returns home to his base at Taree on the NSW mid-north coast.

"I've got too many horses here. I can't afford the time and he did a great job with him this year so I can't see why he won't do the same again," Stitt said.

Saturday's race will be one of two Sydney starts for Youthful Jack, along with the Listed Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m) on December 22.

The seven-year-old will leave for Tasmania early in the new year and Stitt believes he is shaping up just as well 12 months ago.

"I feel he is. He's a really sound horse," he said.

Youthful Jack is not a noted fresh performer with his only victory in seven first-up runs coming at his debut.

Stitt again expects him to take a run or two to hit his straps.

His rivals on Saturday include Riva De Lago, who will be having his first run for new trainer Chris Waller, and the smart Stratford for Team Hawkes.

The Listed ATC Cup (2200m) has attracted a final field of eight, although Saturday's Rosehill winner Cantonese was not among them.
