Perfect draw for Luckygray

Wednesday 5 December 2012, 1:38pm

Favourite Luckygray has drawn ideally in barrier four for Saturday's Group One Kingston Town Classic at Ascot.

The five-year-old is $2.50 with TAB fixed odds to exact revenge on Mr Moet who beat him by three-quarters of a length last start in the Railway Stakes.

While Mr Moet ($13) has also drawn well in barrier one, he meets Luckygray 4.5kg worse off under the weight-for-age conditions of the Kingston Town Classic (1800m).

The 2011 winner Playing God ($5.50) and runner-up Ranger ($10) have come up with gates seven and five respectively.

The eastern state visitors didn't fare as well at the draw.

Veteran Wall Street is a $13 chance and will have to overcome barrier 13 while the John Thompson-trained Shamardashing ($61) is immediately to his outside.

A field of 16 plus one emergency was paid up for the Group One with Maschino drawing widest.
