Co-trainer Troy Corstens says rain will boost the chances of Judicial Miss at Sandown.
Showers are forecast before Saturday and with Judicial Miss to line up in the Maurice Blackburn Lawyers Plate (1300m), Troy Corstens said some give in the surface would be ideal for the mare.
But even if the rain doesn't arrive, Corstens said the front-running mare, with apprentice Patrick Moloney to ride, should be hard to run down.
Judicial Miss was a last-start second in the Group Three Summoned Stakes (1500m) at Sandown on November 15 and the mare drops back in class.
"She should go forward again with no weight on her back and it looks an easier field than the Summoned Stakes," Corstens said.
"I would like a touch of give in the ground so some rain would be beneficial."
Corstens and his father Leon will also saddle up Sweet As Bro in the Booralite Park Handicap (1600m) and Siegestor in Doolan's Heavy Haulage Handicap (1500m).
A winner of the Kilmore Cup earlier in the year, Corstens is expecting a better run from Sweet As Bro.
He said the gelding had a virus first up at Flemington in October before producing a pass mark with his last-start eighth at Sandown three weeks ago.
Siegestor is a lightly raced galloper racing second up following an impressive win at Sandown over 1300m on November 19.
