Rumeron had displayed good ability as a two year old but was over racing and not giving herself the best chance of reaching her full potential. Charlie Goggin and Leuella Meaburn started changing her work routine and on Sunday in Hobart the filly did everything right to win her 2nd race from four runs this season. She has come a long way and will be aimed at the better three year old races.
As if Rumeron’s win wasn’t enough Charlie and Leuella sent out Bella Venus on Wednesday night at Launceston and she did what very few horses do and that is win her Class 1 straight after a maiden win. She is a lovely type of a filly and her win was Prime Thoroughbreds 4th from just 6 starters in Tasmania this season. Pitt Street found the tempo a bit hot in the Tasmanian Newmarket which was run in track record time and he will be much better suited once he gets out to 1400m.
Michael Rodd bringing Bella Venus back after her strong win
We have a really nice team of horses in Tasmania for the Summer Carnival and will have up to four runners on 17 December in Launceston with Pitt Street, Princess Royale, Rumeron and Bella Venus pencilled in to run at the meeting. Hot To Trot runs this Sunday at Devonport.
We are running at a hot 28.6% winners to runners this season with 20 wins from 70 runners. This is outstanding but will be difficult to maintain. Traditionally we run at about 20%.

MAGIC MILLIONS PREPARATIONS
I must say I have plenty of spring in my step at present as I prepare for the Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale that starts in about 6 weeks time. This is our most important sale of the year and I head to the Hunter to continue preparations on 8 December.
I have a lot of work to do but I am sorting out the first season sires progeny in my head and I am happy where I’m at. More as we get closer. I am intending to purchase 6 to 8 yearlings. Please don’t call to find out where I see the first season sires sitting because I won’t tell you.
We will inspect about 400 yearlings while in the Hunter Valley. There seem to be more Hunter Valley entries in this year’s sale.
PITT STREET’S MUSWELLBROOK CUP WIN KRIS LEES 1000th WINNER
When Pitt Street won the Muswellbrook Cup on Melbourne Cup day be was Kris Lees 1000th winner. This is a terrific effort as Kris only started training after the death of his great dad Max in 2005. I’m pleased Prime Thoroughbreds is a part of the Lees Racing rich history. Congratulations to Kris and his loyal staff. Kris is having another very good season and has a strong team of horses on his books. He is Prime Thoroughbreds biggest trainer.

ON THE TRACK
We have a very busy week ahead kicking off with Sanosuke at Mudgee this afternoon. This horse needs to get some confidence and with Hugh Bowman to ride him this race looks an ideal opportunity.
On Saturday Hijack Hussy, Savoureux and Faith’n’Courage run at Doomben; Terra Amata at Rosehill; Invincible Me at Morphettville and Hazy Blur may run in Newcastle. Hot To Trot runs at Devonport on Sunday.
Next week we have Annaman and Unique set to run on Friday and Hazy Blur may run at Taree on Tuesday. We have had plenty of horses trial recently and I expect plenty of runners heading into the New Year.
I AM INVINCIBLE FILLY OUT OF AMBER’S ARION -
The progeny of I Am Invincible seem to go from strength to strength with him now completely dominating the 2nd season sires list with winners coming thick and fast.
I am thrilled to offer the yearling filly by I Am Invincible out of Amber’s Arion. I have been trying to purchase her for six months and clinched the deal last week while I was in the Hunter Valley. This should be good news for the clients who buy into her. More information later in this dispatch.
Yarraman Park is also riding on the crest of a wave at present with their first season sire Hinchinbrook starting to make a big impact with him sitting in 2nd place on the First Season List. He is a stunning horse and I am on record picking him to be Australia’s Leading First Season Sire. Fingers crossed.
I AM INVINCIBLE / AMBER’S ARION 2013
Pictured above is an athletic yearling filly by I Am Invincible out of the very well related mare Amber’s Arion. This is Amber’s Arion’s 2nd foal. Amber’s Arion is a ½ sister to the outstanding two year old filly Amber’s Waltz.
Amber’s Arion
Amber’s Arion is a ½ siter to Amber’s Waltz wchich won as a two year old and was placed 2nd in the Gold Coast Magic Millions Two Year Old Classic and Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes. She was also placed 2nd in the Group 3 AJC Sweet Embrace Stakes and 3rd in the STC Tea Rose Stakes and the Listed MVRC Alexandra Plate. At 3 she ran 4th in the MRC Group 1 1000 Guineas.
Amber’s Arion is out of the Group 3 and multiple Listed winner Ambers Halo. She was also placed 4th in the WA Oaks. I love purchasing horses out of families where the daughters have performed well in Oaks races. I have also had a lot of success with horses out of WA mares with the best being Unabated. This is a great family.
Amber’s Arion is by Fusaichi Pegasus who is starting to make a name for himself internationally as a sire of high class brood mares. The best horses out to Fusaichi Pegasus mare to race in Australia are Niagara, Darci Be Good, Gamblin Guru, Aeronautical and Rose Of Choice.
I Am Invincible
I Am Invincible was Australia’s Leading First season Sire in 2013/14 Season by both stakes money and individual winners. His progeny have proved he was no flash in the pan coming out in their three year old year being more dominant than in the first season. In fact he gapped the opposition with more winners than the next three sires on the list.
I Am invincible had his service fee raised to $27,500 this breeding season and was fully booked out in a matter of days. The mail about his upcoming crop of two year olds is very strong.
I am thrilled to have this filly join our team and look forward to her wearing our colours. 10 shares @ $7,800 with 5% shares just $3,900 each. This filly is filling up quickly.
