Damien Brown has a busy time ahead

Monday 19 January 2015, 1:54pm

Brisbane jockey Damian Browne has a busy Australia Day weekend ahead, riding in three cities in three days.

Browne will ride at Doomben on Saturday before catching a plane to Auckland to ride Hardline in New Zealand's richest race, the Karaka Million at Ellerslie the following day.

He will then return to Australia to ride in Melbourne where he will renew his association with Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin for the Blue Diamond Previews at Sandown.

"I am looking forward to the weekend but it will be hectic," Browne said.

"Liam (trainer Liam Birchley) has put blinkers on Hardline and I think that will suit him."

"I will be on a Godolphin runner in each of the fillies and the colts divisions of Blue Diamond Previews but I am not certain which horses just yet."

Browne rode the Sheikh Mohammed-owned Earthquake to win last year's Group One Blue Diamond.

Hardline is an $8 chance on the NZ TAB to win the $1 million sprint for two-year-olds bought at last year's Karaka sale.

The Graeme and Debbie Rogerson-trained Maritimo is the $4 favourite.

Hardline won his debut at Doomben in early December and started favourite on January 3 for his second start at Rosehill.

The gelding was hampered a couple of times during the race won by Giulietta in which he finished seventh.

Birchley gave him a jump-out a few days later with the blinkers on and was pleased with his effort.

The Brisbane trainer won the 2010 Karaka Million with Sister Havana after claiming second a year earlier with Sarge In Charge.
