Nick Hall is free to ride Petrology at Sandown after having two days shaved off a suspension.
Hall successfully appealed to the Victorian Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on Tuesday against the severity of a 10-meeting careless riding suspension handed out by stewards at Mornington last Friday.
The suspension was due to end at midnight on Monday but Hall can now return to riding on Sunday.
Hall rode the David Hayes and Tom Dabernig-trained Petrology to win the Sandown Guineas (1600m) in November and the colt is scheduled to resume in the Group Three Manfred Stakes (1300m) at Sandown on Monday.
The jockey ventured to Werribee last week to partner the three-year-old in a gallop in preparation for his first run in a campaign aimed at the Group One Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington in March.
