Six horses to run in Group One Lightning

A field of just six has been declared for Saturday's Group One Lightning Stakes at Flemington on Saturday.

Unbeaten sprinter Deep Field is the early favourite to defeat reigning Horse of the Year Lankan Rupee in the 1000 metre sprint.

The two will start alongside each other with Deep Field in barrier five and Lankan Rupee to his outside.

The others in the field are three-year-old Group One winner Brazen Beau, Watermans Bar, Fab Fevola and The Quarterback.

The race is named in honour of three-time winner, champion Black Caviar.
