Side Glance heading to Winter Derby

Sunday 22 February 2015, 10:11am

Global traveller Side Glance has warmed up for his first start since the Cox Plate with a work-out at Lingfield.

Side Glance will run in the Winter Derby at the track on March 14.

Side Glance has been to Australia twice, winning the 2013 Group One Mackinnon Stakes and running third in the Caulfield Stakes last year before finishing half a length behind Adelaide in the Cox Plate.

David Redvers, racing and bloodstock manager for owners Pearl Bloodstock, said the Andrew Balding-trained eight-year-old was in good order.

"That was a really good piece of work," Redvers told At The Races.

"He seems in really good fettle. He's one of our bright stars and is just a wonderful horse.

"That should hopefully put him spot-on for the Winter Derby."
