Dissident odds-on to win Futurity Stakes

Wednesday 25 February 2015, 4:25pm

Dissident is unbeaten over 1400m at Caulfield in two Group One races and is expected to add another major win in Saturday's Futurity Stakes.

The Peter Moody-trained entire has been installed the $1.75 favourite to win the fifth Group One of his career on his home track.

Dissident dominated the CF Orr Stakes in his most recent start and he also won the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield in the spring.

"He's in good shape and his work on Saturday indicated to me that he has come on again," Moody said.

"He pleased me again on the course proper on Tuesday so he goes there cherry ripe with no excuses."

Dissident has seven rivals in Saturday's weight-for-age race and will jump from the outside gate.

Entirely Platinum finished second to Dissident first-up in the Orr and he is on the second line of betting at $6 with Sydney mare Driefontein.

Moody has won the Futurity Stakes with Typhoon Tracy in 2010 and Moment Of Change last year.

Like Dissident, they won the Orr en route to winning the Futurity.
