Former champion jockey Chris Munce was in the winner's circle at Ipswich on Wednesday for the first time as a trainer.
Munce retired from the saddle after riding at the Magic Millions meeting last month.
He won 42 Group One races and is one of only seven jockeys to win the Melbourne Cup, Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and Golden Slipper.
Specific Choice gave Munce his breakthrough win as a trainer when he led all the way to win the Optus Business Centre Handicap (1666m).
"I have 12 horses in work at the moment but we have been getting out and networking, building up a client-base," Munce said.
"The horses have been fine but it has been a learning curve already."
Specific Choice's win gave apprentice Matt McGillivray a treble.
