The meeting scheduled for the Sandown Hillside course on April 29 has been transferred to Geelong.
There have been problems at the past two meetings on both the Hillside and Lakeside tracks with the rail out 14 metres and jockeys reporting horses slipping late in the day.
Damien Oliver says the problem occurs as jockeys get away from the fence as the ground chops out near the rail, forcing fields wider and on to turf that is rarely used.
The Lakeside track is to race next Wednesday and again on Easter Monday with the rail in the true position.
Jumps trials scheduled for Sandown on April 24 have been transferred to Cranbourne.
Racing Victoria racing operations manager Paul Bloodworth said the transfers would allow the surface to benefit from a three-week break between April 22 and May 13.
"Sandown will host 10 meetings during May, June and July and allowing the racing surface a break ahead of this will ensure the Melbourne Racing Club can present the track in optimal condition," Bloodworth said.
