Jockey Jack Hill is in a critical but stable condition in the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne after a race fall at Donald on Friday.
Hill was airlifted to the Melbourne hospital after he came down rounding the home turn in a 2000m maiden race when riding The Muckle Toon.
The rest of the meeting was abandoned at the request of Hill's fellow riders.
Racing Victoria said on Friday night that Hill was in a critical but stable condition.
"He is under close observation," the statement said.
An update on his condition is expected on Saturday.
