Trainer Bruce Hill is confident he can add to his run of success in two-year-old races with tough filly Favoured Grace at Doomben.
Hill has five individual two-year-old winners in the past two months and he is confident there are more on the way.
"I have always believed you have to get horse coming through your stable on the up. A couple of times I have put my neck on the chopping bock buying yearlings but usually the gamble has come off," Hill said.
Favoured Grace will be among the favourites for the Racing Retro Two-Year-Old (1350m) on Saturday.
She won at the Sunshine Coast before finishing fourth behind Sydney filly Secret Trail in the $100,000 QTIS Two-Year-Old (1200m) at the Gold Coast two weeks ago.
"Favoured Grace wasn't the easiest of horses to get going but once she learned what it is all about she has just kept on improving," Hill said.
"One thing about her she is very tough."
Hill believes Favoured Grace, who is by former class stayer Monaco Consul, will be even better over longer distances.
Glen Colless will take over as Favoured Grace's jockey on Saturday and Hill believes the experienced jockey will suit her.
Favoured Grace cost just $15,000 as a yearling and is raced by a syndicate headed by Hill's biggest owner, Steve Foster.
They have had several classy horses in recent years including Rosehill Guineas placegetter Teronado and juvenile Redsson, a winner of two of his three starts.
Hill has sent another of his promising two-year-olds Man of His Word for a spell.
"He is a bit of a boofhead and he wanted to do a few things wrong when he won at the Gold Coast last week," he said.
"He went straight for a spell on Monday and now he is a gelding."
"It think on potential he is the best of my two-year-olds but he as a few things to learn."
