Jockey Jack Hill regains consciousness

Injured jockey Jack Hill has regained consciousness a week after a race fall in country Victoria.

Hill has been in Melbourne's Alfred Hospital since he fell at Donald.

His condition was revised from critical to serious earlier this week and on Friday the National Jockeys Trust said Hill had woken up.

The NJT said Hill faced a long recovery and rest was critical for his brain to heal.
