Punters have rallied to Tarangower and Voodoo Lad to fight out the inaugural $300,000 final of the Country Championship.
Voodoo Lad beat Tarangower in the qualifying heat at Tamworth on March 12 run on a soft track.
Conditions are expected to be worse than soft at Randwick on Saturday with further rain predicted overnight.
Tarangower, who is trained by Paul Messara, tuned up for the final with a barrier trial win at Warwick Farm last week.
Voodoo Lad, trained by Messara's Scone neighbour Rod Northam, trialled a few days earlier for a win over Championship rival, Binalong Road.
Tarangower firmed from $4.60 to $4.20 on Friday with Voodoo Lad coming in from $6 to $5.
The first two home in seven heats qualified for the final with an extra race added last Sunday to give country horses one last chance to make the field.
Amid calls for country jockeys to be retained for the final next year, connections of Saturday's runners have opted for city experience.
James McDonald rides Voodoo Lad while Hong Kong premiership leader Joao Moreira is on Tarangower.
Northam will also have a Group One runner at Randwick with Odyssey Moon to line up in the $1 million Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m).
Odyssey Moon finished eighth in the Golden Slipper, just over two lengths from the winner Vancouver, and is a $13 chance.
Blue Diamond Stakes winner Pride Of Dubai and Slipper runner-up English were both at $3.80 on Friday.
